Cuomo Update

According to a detailed blog posting by Karl Koch, band webmaster and close friend, yesterday’s accident, which sent Rivers Cuomo to the hospital, resulted in the lead singer suffering from 3 cracked ribs, internal damage, and an injured lower leg.  The remainder of Weezer’s tour in support of their recent album, “Raditude,” has been canceled; no information available as of yet regarding ticket refunds.

Cuomo has been moved to a larger hospital and remains under observation while band assistant, Sarah Kim, was discharged with a recovery schedule of 3-4 weeks.  Full details and photos of the incident available here.

Do You Want to Destroy Rivers Cuomo?

Weezer frontman, Rivers Cuomo, was injured in upstate New York this afternoon when a bus he was riding from Toronto to Boston met unfavorable road conditions and slid into a ditch.  Cuomo was on board with his wife, daughter, and two other passengers.

Cuomo, who according to CNN “complained of rib pain,” was taken to St. Mary’s hospital in Amsterdam, NY along with band assistant, Sarah Kim (Albany Times-Union).  No other injuries have been reported.
