Interpol have released more details regarding their upcoming 4th album, a self-titled, 10-track follow-up to Our Love to Admire, and, boy, do they want you to buy it! Check the album artwork above…

Interpol Unveil “Lights” Video Exclusively Online
Coming off their June 21st show in Buffalo, NY, the newly renovated Interpol released exclusive content online for fans anxious to hear and see their latest endeavours: a downloadable video for “Lights.”
“Lights,” the first track Interpol revealed off their upcoming self-titled LP, now has visual accompaniment courtesy of digital post-photographer, Charlie White. White, who is fairly new to video production, is no stranger to the digital realm. As an individual who has achieved a respectable level of notoriety as a composer of surreal digital photography, White unites his futuristic, obscure vision with the equally obscure Interpol to create an enthralling video filled with stunning visual contrasts and steeped in science fiction themes.
Watch or download the video here, and take a glimpse at the remaining dates for Interpol’s upcoming North American tour below.

Interpol Cancels Bulk of North American Tour
Remember the crushing news U2 fans in North America received following Bono’s recent back surgery? Well, it’s still taking its toll, possibly on the same fans, certainly on a number of other fans: namely, those of Interpol.
Yes, the quiet quartet recently announced a return from their three-year absence with a tour in support of an upcoming album, a tour consisting of multiple dates fashioned around opening for U2. Bono’s recent surgery, however, requires an eight-week recovery stint meaning U2 will miss the entire North American tour. It also means no headliner for whom Interpol can open.
From Interpol’s website:
We lament the change in plans, apologize for the inconvenience, and assure you that we’ll do you right – when the time is right and the light is nice.
So with U2 walking away, Interpol will follow, leaving only four dates intact for Rochester, Buffalo, Pittsburgh, and Allentown. The band promises ticket holders and fans that they will reschedule all cancelled dates, though when is currently uncertain. However, Interpol, will resume their tour as openers for U2 in Europe this fall.
This news reveals that, from volcanic ash to back problems, 2010 is not the most successful year for anticipated concerts. It also proves how much is dependent on Bono.

Interpol’s ‘Wash of Reverb’ Back?
When Sam Fogarino talked to Paste at the end of 2009 regarding Interpol’s last album, Our Love to Admire, he hinted at something even the most die-hard Interpol fan wanted to say, but couldn’t bring him or herself to utter it: the album sucked.
Well, maybe it didn’t entirely suck, but it was certainly an overly polished version of something that it could’ve been, but wasn’t quite.
Still, the recent unveiling of a brand new song, “Lights,” sheds light (pun all too easily intended) on Interpol’s direction after a 3 year hiatus. You can find the mp3, which is available as a free download barring you have a date of birth and an email address, on the band’s website. By now, the infamous – and highly cryptic – Interpol message has found its way across much of the internet’s expanse, but let us encumber you with redundancy:
We’re stirring.
Please take a moment to visit our website: www.interpolnyc.com
We want to show you something.
And make sure you come back soon.
We will be posting important information and dates in the coming weeks.
Thank you [and God bless].

Ok, so we added that bracket, but don’t you think it’s appropriate? If you’re curious about Interpol’s new song and whether they can return to a place that has possibly expired, or shift to something new altogether inspired by the beauty of such an expired place, click here.
